About Miniature Pinscher in Fast CAT
Miniature Pinschers are the small-dog speed darlings of Fast CAT — under 12 inches with the 2.0× handicap, the breed produces some of the highest per-run point totals in the sport.
Competitive Min Pins run 18–22 MPH and earn the 2.0× handicap. With that multiplier, a 21 MPH run is 42 points — competitive on a per-run basis with mid-tier Whippets. The breed's top leaderboard MPH is in the low 20s, but the points totals can rival much larger breeds.
Min Pins also bring full terrier-class prey drive to a 100-yard sprint — most Min Pins lock onto the lure immediately and run absolutely all-out. The challenge is finding well-managed events: the breed's small size means Min Pins are vulnerable to ground conditions and lure placement that wouldn't affect larger breeds.
