About Ibizan Hound in Fast CAT
Ibizan Hounds are agile Mediterranean sighthounds — leaner and lighter than Greyhounds, with surprising vertical jump and high acceleration over 100 yards.
Competitive Ibizan Hounds run 30–34 MPH at the 1.0× handicap. The breed's leaderboard sits in the low 30s. Ibizans are exceptional accelerators — they reach top speed faster than larger sighthounds, which on a 100-yard course is a meaningful advantage.
The breed's small AKC population keeps the top-20 cutoff achievable for dedicated handlers. The Ibizan Hound community at trials is small but enthusiastic, and the breed is often the runner-up in size-vs-speed conversations against the better-known Pharaoh Hound.
