About Greyhound in Fast CAT
Greyhounds are the absolute speed ceiling of AKC Fast CAT — the only breed where 38+ MPH runs aren't headlines.
Greyhounds dominate the all-breed top of the speed table, with several individual dogs holding records at 40+ MPH over the past decade. Most competitive Greyhounds run between 36 and 39 MPH; the breed's average is faster than every other breed's all-time fastest dog. They're squarely in the 1.0× handicap class, so MPH and points are the same number.
The Greyhound community in Fast CAT skews heavily toward retired racers (NGA Greyhounds adopted from the racing industry) and AKC-registered sport-line Greyhounds. Both eligible breeds compete; if you're looking at the top 20, expect a mix.
