About Borzoi in Fast CAT

Borzois are tall Russian sighthounds bred to course wolves — at 28–32 inches at the withers and 75–105 pounds, they're the giants of the elite-speed tier.

Competitive Borzois run 33–36 MPH at the 1.0× handicap. Top dogs in the breed have cleared 37 MPH. Their long stride means each individual gait covers more ground than any other breed in the sport — the math of 100 yards favors them.

Borzois are also visually striking on the field — the long flowing coat trailing behind a 36 MPH dog is a signature Fast CAT image. The breed's main handler challenge is the warm-up: cold Borzois are slow Borzois, and the breed benefits from real conditioning before the run.
